Mars decided to extend total amount of investments into its pet food production factory in Rostov Region by 30%. Which means that in addition to RUB 4 billion already invested, the company will contribute another RUB 1.2 billion by the end of 2018. These investments will speed-up the project in reaching its designed capacity, as well as allow for the factory infrastructure development. Total amount of money invested in the project within three years will be RUB 5.2 billion.

A new Mars investment program in the Don region was announced at the 2018 Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“We are consistent in developing our production facilities in Russia. Our factory in Rostov Region has already reached 70% of its designed capacity, and it is just for the beginning. Successful implementation of our project in the Southern region of Russia will have a positive influence on both the company and the segment as a whole on a federal level,” claims Valery Schapov, President of Mars Russia.

Mars launched its factory in Aksay district of Rostov Region in 2017. The project is included in the "Governor's Hundred" priority investment projects of Rostov Region. It is one of the Mars’s largest investments in the development of Russian production assets over the past 10 years. The facility produces full-fledged wet pet food under Whiskas®, Kitekat®, Pedigree®, Chappi® and Sheba® brands.

This new facility shows a good example of energy-efficient production. The factory meets the requirements of LEED international environmental certification standards. There are over 20 innovative technical solutions implemented on the facility, all allow for a decrease in energy and water consumption, as well as environmental protection.
